Saturday's results: Louisville boys basketball continues hot streak; Aquinas, GlenOak win

Saturday's boys basketball highlights

LOUISVILLE 86, AKRON ELLET 55 Will Aljancic poured in 26 points to power the Leopards past visiting Akron Ellet. Louisville led 17-16 after one quarter and broke open the game over the second and third quarters by outscoring Ellet 52-24. Hayden Nigro finished with 14 points for the Leopards (12-3), who have won 12 of their last 13 games. Brayden Gross scored 13 points and Beau Siegfried added 11.

GLENOAK 66, WARREN HARDING 59 Ja'Corey Lipkins scored 25 points to lead the Golden Eagles past Warren Harding. Reese Zerger fiished with 12 points for GlenOak (13-3).

ST. THOMAS AQUINAS 73, TUSKY CENTRAL CATHOLIC 47 Deshaun Leishman scored a game-high 19 points to help power St. Thomas Aquinas past Tusky Central Catholic. The Knights (10-5) took command in the second quarter when they outscored the Saints 25-8 for a 43-21 halftime lead. Jamari Freeman scored 12 points for Aquinas. Avixer Card-Tarver finished with 11 points and Julius Kimbrough added 10.

Coupled with Lake's loss to McKinley, Jackson moves into sole possession of first place in the league at 6-2. Kyle Monterrubio scored 14 points while Owen Woolbert added 11 points and seven rebounds for the Polar Bears (10-4), who shot 11-of-17 from the 3-point line and 24-for-41 from the floor overall. Wes Collins led Hoover (6-8, 3-5) with 15 points and five assists. Grant Walker added 12 points in his return from a wrist injury.

MCKINLEY 53, LAKE 34 Tra'Sean Foster and Reed Sims Jr. scored 15 points each as the Bulldogs snapped a four-game losing streak with a Federal League road win. McKinley (6-7, 4-4) held Lake to a season low in points and knocked the Blue Streaks (8-7, 5-3) out of a first-place tie in the league with Jackson. Chance Casenhiser led Lake with 14 points.

GLENOAK 64, PERRY 55 Ja'Corey Lipkins scored 16 points and Kenny Scott posted 15 as the Golden Eagles won at Perry to stay a half game out of first place in the Federal League. Reese Zerger added 12 points for GlenOak (12-3, 5-2). Joel Brown led Perry (2-11, 0-8) with 20 points. Peyton Wengerd scored 15 and Luke Wolf 10 for the Panthers.

STOW 40, GREEN 36 Reece Raymond-Smith scored 14 points as Stow (11-2) won a low-scoring bout between two of the top Division I teams in Northeast Ohio. Brady Rollyson's 13 points led Green (10-4), which beat Stow in a district final last year. Stow was coming off a win against St. Vincent-St. Mary on Tuesday.
