Monday's Top Prep Performers from baseball, softball, golf, swimming, and volleyball

Highlights from Monday in high school spring sports:

BASEBALL

  • Jacob Lovato went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs, Boston Bateman was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI, Danny Aguilera went 2 for 3 with two RBIs, and Brandon Contreras had a triple and an RBI to lead Camarillo to a 10-6 win over Ventura in a nonleague game. Bronson Thorpe was 2 for 3 with a homer and two RBIs, Wylan Nelson went 2 for 4 with a triple and an RBI, Josh Woodworth was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs, Dash Lopez finished 2 for 3 with an RBI, Rudy Aldana went 2 for 4, and Bradley Pedersen was 2 for 4 for the Cougars.

  • Seth Slaigel and Austin Watkins combined for a four-hit shutout with 18 strikeouts as St. Bonaventure (5-3-1, 3-0) defeated Foothill Tech 1-0 in nine innings in a Tri-Valley League game.

  • Jaden Onaca pitched a three-hit shutout with six strikeouts, Christopher Tampoya went 2 for 3 with a double, and Joseph Steventon was 1 for 2 with an RBI to lead Oaks Christian (6-5, 2-2) to a 1-0 win over Newbury Park in a Marmonte League game. Cole Miller allowed three hits and no earned runs while striking out 10 in six innings, and Tyler Field, Derek Turner and Drew Turley had hits for the Panthers (8-4, 2-2).

  • Nate Franco was 1 for 2 with two RBIs, Nate Johnson went 2 for 4 with an RBI, Kaden Youmans was 2 for 4 with a double, Nolan Johnson had a double and an RBI, Ethan Bolger was 2 for 4, Andrew Cusworth was 1 for 1 with an RBI, and Andrew Habermann allowed two runs and struck out six in 5.2 innings to lead Westlake (9-4, 3-1) to a 5-2 win over Agoura in a Marmonte League game. Myles Kallinger was 2 for 3 with double, Ethan Kearney and Michael Moran each went 1 for 4 with an RBI, and Ethan Broome allowed one earned run in five innings for the Chargers (7-7, 2-2).

  • Aiden Nykoluk went 3 for 4, Matthew Cuccias was 2 for 4 with a double, Landen Adair finished 2 for 4, and Ethan Walgren had a double and three RBIs for Simi Valley in its 5-4 loss to San Marcos.

SOFTBALL

  • Nicolette Hunter allowed one hit while striking out five in five scoreless innings and went 2 for 3 with a home run and five RBIs at the plate, Jadalynn Sovey hit a three-run homer, Mariana Palazuelos was 2 for 2 with a double and two RBIs, Sarah Coccillos finished 3 for 4, and Mariah Reyes had a double to lead Rio Mesa (9-1-1, 5-0) to a 13-0, five-inning win over Pacifica in a Channel League game.

  • Kadyn Sánchez struck out nine in the circle and went 2 for 3 with an RBI at the plate, Sophia Romero was 3 for 4 with two RBIs, Sara Briones and Abriana Ramirez each went 2 for 4 with two RBIs, and Aleh Martinez finished 2 for 4 to lead Santa Clara (6-1, 2-0) to a 10-1 win over St. Bonaventure in a Tri-Valley League game. Jennifer Garcia was 2 for 3 with an RBI for the Seraphs (7-6, 2-1).

  • Anahi Arreola was 2 for 4 with a solo home run and three RBIs, Ilove’a Brittingham and Kamryn Guthrie each had a double and two RBIs, Lily Knox hit a solo homer, and Terrianna Kelley was 1 for 2 with a double and two walks to lead unbeaten Oaks Christian (13-0-1, 8-0) to a 9-6 victory over Agoura in a Marmonte League game. Amaya Del Olmo was 2 for 3 with a homer and two RBIs, Mia Gomez had a double and an RBI, and Kayla Myatt had a hit and an RBI for the Chargers (10-8-1, 4-4-1).

BOYS GOLF

  • Caden Raines was the medalist with a 35 and Eoin O’Neil shot a 39 to lead St. Bonaventure to a 204-261 win over Santa Paula at Saticoy Regional Golf Course.

  • Tyler Meister was the medalist with a 38 and Raj Hundal followed with a 41 to lead Camarillo (4-2) to a 209-284 victory over Pacifica (0-4) in a nonleague match at River Ridge's Victoria Lakes Course.

  • Luke Rea shot a 92 and TJ Gallegos had a 96 to lead Oxnard (2-3) to a 525-585 win over Fillmore (4-6) in a nonleague match at River Ridge's Vineyard Course.

BOYS SWIMMING

  • Nordhoff defeated Channel Islands 63-59 in a Citrus Coast League meet. Quin Seider won the 200 freestyle (1:47.33) and 500 freestyle (4:57.21). Cole Prichard won the 200 IM (2:55.59). Ben McSorley won the 100 butterfly (1:04.33) and 100 backstroke (1:09.21). For Channel Islands, Jayden Ursua won the 50 freestyle (27.46) and 100 freestyle (1:05.04). Angel Leyva won the 100 breaststroke (1:23.53).

GIRLS SWIMMING

  • Nordhoff defeated Channel Islands 111-26 in a Citrus Coast League meet. Melina Seider won the 100 freestyle (1:00.50) and 200 freestyle (2:07.87). Tayten Neiderhiser won the 200 IM (2:26.72) and 500 freestyle (5:50.95). Amelie Pinkernell won the 50 freestyle (27.47) and 100 breaststroke (1:16.64). Josephine Hartmann won the 100 butterfly (1:11.56). Kirra Fink won the 100 backstroke (1:17.78).

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

  • Patrick Allen had 17 kills, Bennett Lueg finished 13 kills and 10 digs, Josiah Wong had 31 assists and 11 digs, and Alex Zak added nine digs and two aces to lead Oaks Christian to a 25-17, 20-25, 25-22, 25-21 win over Camarillo in a nonleague match.
