Monday's Top Prep Performers from softball, baseball, boys volleyball, and boys golf

Highlights from Monday in high school spring sports:

SOFTBALL

  • Divina Miranda pitched a four-hit shutout with two strikeouts, Jennie Jacinto drove in the game's only run with a single in the fifth inning, and Aubrey Trigo was 2 for 3 with a double to lead Buena (8-10, 4-6) to a 1-0 victory over Oxnard (9-8, 6-2) in a Channel League game.

  • Tessa Denger went 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs, Siena Lightcap was 2 for 3 with two RBIs, and Cece Perez had a double and two RBIs to lead Ventura (7-8, 4-4) to a 12-7 victory over San Marcos in a Channel League game.

  • Cameron McGugan finished 2 for 5 with a double, triple and three RBIs, Julia Spradling was 2 for 5 with a double and two RBIs, Avery Pryor went 2 for 4 with an RBI, Kari Sorensen had a triple and an RBI, and Amanda Smith pitched a complete game to lead Oak Park (10-7, 2-4) to a 12-4 victory over Simi Valley in a Coastal Canyon League game.

  • Kaitlyn Bartlow pitched a four-hit shutout with 12 strikeouts, Paige Blanton had a double and two RBIs, Grace Roskowick was 1 for 2 with two RBIs, and Samy Gallegos and GiGi Nerdin each had a hit and an RBI to lead Westlake (17-4-1) to a 6-0 victory over Louisville in a nonleague game.

  • Sofie Aviles went 3 for 4 with two doubles to lead Fillmore (11-4, 9-1) to a 12-0 win over Nordhoff in a Citrus Coast League game.

BASEBALL

  • Tommy Goodin went 2 for 4 with a double, home run and four RBIs, Camron Muldoon allowed four hits and no earned runs with three strikeouts in four innings, Jacob Lovato pitched two scoreless innings, Blaise Meylemans finished 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI, Brayden Smith was 2 for 3 with an RBI, Matt Martinez went 2 for 3 with a double, and Troy Arenzana was 2 for 4 to lead Camarillo (14-10, 5-5) to a 6-1 win over Royal in a Coastal Canyon League game. Rodney Sabbe went 2 for 4 with an RBI for the Highlanders (13-5, 7-3).

  • Tommy Farmer went 2 for 3 with an RBI, Finley Buckner was 2 for 3 with a triple, Carson Sheffer had a hit and an RBI, James Latshaw had an RBI, and Gaelan Mendoza, Sebestien Ajemian, Jack Laubacher and Caz Arroyo combined to pitched a three-hit shutout to lead Oaks Christian (11-7) to a 3-0 win over Gahr in a nonleague game.

  • Landon Gaz was 1 for 1 with three walks and a stolen base, Greg Lareva went 2 for 3 with a double, and Carson Cerny was 2 for 3 for Moorpark (13-10) in its 8-2 loss to Valencia in a nonleague game.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

  • Trevor Watkins finished with 20 kills, Sean Nelson had 19 kills and Carter Borth racked up 53 assists as Royal (11-5, 7-1) defeated Oak Park 25-23, 23-25, 25-14, 23-25, 15-13 to clinch at least a share of the Coastal Canyon League title. Nikko Songco had 21 kills and Jack Nicks had 15 kills and five blocks for the Eagles.

BOYS GOLF

  • Sahir Balyan shot a 76 and Tyler Lumpkin had a 77 to lead Simi Valley (8-3, 7-0) to a 391-398 win over Oak Park in a Coastal Canyon League match at Los Robles Greens Golf Course. Alexander Cheng was the medalist with a 3-over 73, Vineet Vallamsetty followed with a 74 and Parker Schurer shot a 76 for the Eagles (5-3).
