Monkeypox vaccines will be provided to at-risk groups in individual counties across the state

The Ohio Department of Health will provide a limited number of Monkeypox vaccines to residents in Dayton and Montgomery County, according to a news release from county health officials.

Those who are most at-risk will be able to receive a dose of the lynneos vaccine.

Public Health officials are focusing on Ohio residents who are most at risk, including men who have sex with men, any male identified gender diverse people who have had multiple or anonymous sexual partners in the last two weeks, or any person of any gender or sexual orientation who exchange sex for compensation, according to the release. All residents eligible must be 18 years of age or older.

Any person who falls into those categories can register for the vaccination waitlist here.

Officials said as vaccines become available, individuals will be contacted to make an appointment at the Public Health Clinic.

Vaccination criteria is subject to change as supplies increase, the spokesperson said.
