Monroe brewery hosts holiday giveback benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities

Americana Beer Company unveiled its holiday giving campaign for Ronald McDonald House Charities in Monroe on Saturday.

Their campaign, named “Fight Like Banks,” was inspired by the first grandson of Darren Tucker, Americana Brew Company’s head brewer, who was born three months early and is currently in a neonatal intensive care unit.

“He’s an inspiration to all of us, and it’s incredible to see him growing and beating everything thrown at him every single day. After months in the NICU, we’re excited to say that he will be coming home soon,” said Tucker.

The Tucker family has been staying at the Ronald McDonald House to be near the hospital while Banks is still in the NICU. Americana Brewery co-owner Zach Hinschberger expressed his gratitude for how much the Ronald McDonald House has done for the families during these hard times.

“Ronald McDonald House does so much for families who have loved ones with extended hospital stays, and we just want to do something to give back as a ‘thank you’ for everything they do,” said Hinschberger.

Denise Cubbedge, CEO of Ronald McDonald House, said they were honored to receive donations for “Fight Like Banks” and to continue their goal of making families comfortable during hard times.

“We are honored to be the recipient of the ‘Fight Like Banks’ donations at Americana Beer Company,” said Cubbedge. “Customer donations will support families just like the Tuckers who are going through some of the toughest times of their lives as they care for their loved ones in the hospital. Whether it is a hot shower, a comfy bed, a homecooked meal or a cup of coffee, your donations will help to keep families close when they need it the most.”

The brewery released a new “Fight Like Banks Pilsner” on Saturday, in addition to accepting cash and can tab donations.
