Monroe County Road Watch: Road projects for week of Oct. 10
The following are upcoming road construction projects across Monroe County, as reported by Monroe County Road Commission. All work is weather permitting:
BEDFORD TOWNSHIP
Clegg Road between Adler Road and Monroe Road
South County Water System will install new water main along Clegg Road between Adler Road and Monroe Road. Adler Road will close to through traffic. Signed detour will include Sterns Road and Secor Roads.
Quail Hollow Drive between Sterns Road and Secor Road
Gerken Paving is scheduled to cold mill and resurface Quail Hollow Drive between Sterns Road and Secor Road. Traffic regulators will maintain one-lane, two-way traffic during the cold milling and hot mix asphalt resurfacing operations.
Rauch Road from Secor Road to Douglas Road
Rauch Road will remain closed to through traffic between Secor Road and Douglas Road next week due to a failed 30-inch diameter culvert under the road. The signed detour route for the Rauch Road closure utilizes Secor Road, Morocco Road, and Douglas Road. The installation of the new culvert is tentatively scheduled to begin at the end of the week, and Rauch Road is expected to reopen to through traffic during the week of October 17.
Stoneybrook & Brookwood Forest Subdivisions off Jackman Road and Dean Road
Gerken Paving is scheduled to install gravel shoulders along Brentwood Lane and Brookwood Lane in the Brookwood Forest subdivision. The adjustment of the sanitary manholes is also tentatively scheduled to begin at the end of the week. Traffic regulators will maintain one-lane, two-way traffic when work is being performed.

BERLIN TOWNSHIP
Brandon Road between Ready Road and Sigler Road
Brandon Road between Ready Road and Sigler Road is scheduled for berm removal next week. Traffic will be maintained with single lane closures while crews are working. Minor delays should be expected in the area.

ERIE TOWNSHIP
Adeline Subdivision between Sterns Road and Suder Road
Construction work will continue next week in Adeline Subdivision between Sterns Road and Suder Road to begin hot mix asphalt resurfacing. Traffic regulators will be used to maintain local access.
Summit Street Bridge between Sterns Road and State Line
Miller Bros. will begin deck work on the east half of the bridge carrying Summit Street over Shantee Creek. Two-lane, two-way traffic will be maintained throughout work activities utilizing a temporary paved lane in the shoulder of Summit Street and a lane shift.

IDA TOWNSHIP
Albain Road between Douglas Road and Lewis Avenue
Miller Brothers Construction and Gerken Paving will begin crush and shape and resurface Albain Road between Douglas Road and Lewis Avenue. The road will close to through traffic. Traffic regulators will maintain one-lane, two-way traffic.
Lewis Avenue between Leghorn Road and Ida Center Road
Lewis Avenue will close to through traffic between Leghorn Road and Ida Center Road starting on Monday. The road closure is for Monroe County Drain culvert replacement and is expected to take approximately two weeks, weather permitting. A signed detour route will include using Samaria Road and Strasburg Road.

LASALLE TOWNSHIP
Stein Road between Minx Road and Strasburg Road
Miller Brothers Construction and Gerken Paving will begin crush and shape and resurface Stein Road between Minx Road and Strasburg Road. The road will close to through traffic. Traffic regulators will maintain one-lane, two-way traffic.

MILAN TOWNSHIP
Hickory Road between Dennison Road and Petersburg Road
Erie Construction will start construction work at the Norfolk Southern Railroad crossing on Hickory Road between Dennison Road and Petersburg Road. The project will entail drainage work, raising the road, and installation of railroad flashers and gates. This construction work will be completed using a detour - Petersburg Road to Redman Road to Dennison Road. Project completion date will be close to end of November.

WHITEFORD TOWNSHIP
Jeffs Road between Sterns Road and Consear Road
Gerken Paving will begin asphalt widening on Jeffs Road between Sterns Road and Consear Road in advance of resurfacing. The road will close to through traffic. Access for local residents and school transportation will be maintained.
