Monroe County Road Watch: Road projects for week of Oct. 3
Following are upcoming road construction projects for the Monroe County Region, as reported by the Monroe County Road Commission. All work is weather permitting:
BEDFORD TOWNSHIP
Rauch Road between Douglas Road and Secor Road
Rauch Road will remain closed to through traffic between Secor Road and Douglas Road next week due to a failed 30-inch diameter culvert under the road. The materials for the new culvert are being procured and are expected to be delivered during the week of October 10, 2022. The signed detour route for the Rauch Road closure utilizes Secor Road, Morocco Road, and Douglas Road.
Section Road between Whiteford Center Road and Secor Road
South County Water System will install new water main along Section Road between Whiteford Center Road and Secor Road. Section Road will be closed to through traffic. Signed detour will include Secor Road and Smith Roads.
Stoneybrook & Brookwood Forest Subdivisions off Jackman Road and Dean Road
Gerken Paving is scheduled to install gravel shoulders along Brentwood Lane and Brookwood Lane in the Brookwood Forest subdivision. Traffic regulators will maintain one-lane, two-way traffic when work is being performed.

ERIE TOWNSHIP
Summit Street Bridge between Sterns Road and State Line
Miller Bros. will begin deck work on the east half of the bridge carrying Summit Street over Shantee Creek. Two-lane, two-way traffic will be maintained throughout the work activities utilizing a temporary paved lane in the shoulder of Summit Street and a lane shift.
Third Street between Second Street and Sterns Road
Third is scheduled to be closed to through traffic between Second Street and Sterns Road next week for removal and replacement of drainage cross tile. No detour route will be posted due to low traffic volume.

IDA TOWNSHIP
Albain Road between Douglas Road and Lewis Avenue
Miller Brothers Construction and Gerken Paving will begin to crush and shape, and resurface Albain Road between Douglas Road and Lewis Avenue. The road will be closed to through traffic. Traffic regulators will maintain one-lane, two-way traffic.

LASALLE TOWNSHIP
Stein Road between Minx Road and Strasburg Road
Miller Brothers Construction and Gerken Paving will begin to crush and shape, and resurface Stein Road between Minx Road and Strasburg Road. The road will be closed to through traffic. Traffic regulators will maintain one-lane, two-way traffic.

MILAN TOWNSHIP
Hickory Road between Dennison Road and Petersburg Road
Erie Construction will begin construction work at the Norfolk Southern Railroad crossing on Hickory Road between Dennison Road and Petersburg Road. The project will entail drainage work, raising the road, and installation of railroad flashers and gates. This construction work will be completed using a detour - Petersburg Road to Redman Road to Dennison Road. The project is expected to be completed by late November.

WHITEFORD TOWNSHIP
Whiteford Center Road between Smith Road and Little Streams Trail
South County Water System will install new water main along Whiteford Center Road between Smith Road and Little Streams Trail. Whiteford Center Road will be closed to through traffic. Signed detour will include Secor Road and Sterns Road.
Jeffs Road between Sterns Road and Consear Road
Gerken Paving will begin asphalt widening on Jeffs Road between Sterns Road and Consear Road in advance of resurfacing. The road will be closed to through traffic. Access for local residents and school transportation will be maintained.
