Monroe County school announcements for Feb. 23
The following Monroe County region school announcements are for Thursday Feb. 23. For many of these students, this is the second day off in a row because of a snow and ice storm.
Announcements about sports and after-school activities will be made later in most cases.
The superintendents are citing "extreme icy conditions," road conditions, power outages and fallen trees across the districts in their announcements. Monroe Public Schools specifically cited "power outages at many of our buildings" in their report.
Monroe County was under an Ice Storm Warning for several hours Wednesday evening.

Dundee Community Schools are closed today.
Flat Rock schools are closed today.
Gibraltar schools are closed today.
Holy Ghost Lutheran School is closed today.
Huron New Boston schools are closed today.
Ida Public Schools are closed today.
Jefferson schools are closed today.
Mason Consolidated Schools are closed today.
Milan Area Schools are closed today.
Monroe Catholic Elementary Schools are closed today. Childcare and Latchkey services will be available for registered families.
Monroe Public Schools are closed today. Parochial schools, Rainbow Preschool and Kids Club also are closed.
New Bedford Academy is closed today.
St. Charles Academy in Newport is closed today.
St. Mary Catholic Central is closed today.
Summerfield Schools are closed today.
Woodhaven-Brownstown Schools are closed today.
