Monroe Family YMCA offering before, after school programs at three locations

The Monroe Family YMCA is offering before and afterschool programs in three locations for the 2023-24 school year.

State-licensed programs are available for children ages 5-12 and include homework help, STEM and literacy activities, physical activity, and art. Children also receive complimentary meals before and after school.

“According to Afterschool Alliance, a nonprofit public awareness organization, one in five kids do not have someone to care for them after school,” the Y said.

“Out-of-school hours are an essential time to help increase children’s success in school,” Kristin Irwin, CEO of the Monroe Family YMCA, said. “The Y’s Before & Afterschool Care programs are an opportunity for families to ensure their kids are receiving additional support, continued learning and a chance to participate in meaningful activities that can inspire children’s motivations and encourage them reach their full potential.”
