Monroe gets energy grants to upgrade senior, community centers

MONROE - The township is taking advantage of incentive programs to “go green" and make improvements at the Monroe Community Center and the Monroe Senior Center.

“The Community Center and Senior Center are two of the most popular facilities in our township, so it is important that we maintain energy efficient climate control within the buildings throughout the year,” Mayor Stephen Dalina said in a release. “We are thankful for New Jersey Clean Energy programs like JCP&L’s Direct Install and PSE&G’s Clean Energy Future that allow us to make these capital improvements as budget-friendly as possible.”

JCP&L approved the township's application to replace the 14 roof-top HVAC units at the Monroe Community Center, 120 Monmouth Road, under the “Direct Install” program administered by the state Board of Public Utilities.
