Monroe Public Schools using new survey program to gather feedback on superintendent search

Monroe Public Schools is using a new survey tool to gather information as it looks to hire its next superintendent.

From now through June 1, the district is asking its families, staff and students to visit https://tejoin.com/scroll/761629090 to share their perspectives and interact with others' thoughts on what qualities they would like to see in MPS' next leader.

"We are using a new tool called ThoughtExchange to allow everyone to share their perspectives more broadly than other surveys and to see and interact with the thoughts of others," district officials wrote in a press release. "You will first be asked to share your thoughts, and then rate the thoughts that others have shared. You can share as many thoughts and ideas as you wish. Your participation is confidential, so no one will know who shared or rated which thoughts. This allows us all to focus on the idea itself, and not the people sharing the ideas.

"It works best if you come back often to rate new ideas as they come in."

The press release noted that it is not necessary for an individual to rate all thoughts in this exchange, but that it is appreciated and recommended to rate around 30 thoughts over the time the program is open.

Everyone who participates is asked to be polite and respectful.

Monroe is searching for a new superintendent after its current one, longtime district employee Dr. Julie Everly, accepted the position of Director of Human Resources with the City of Monroe. Everly's employment with the city officially begins on August 15, however, she will remain engaged with MPS through the next several months to help in the transition to her replacement.
