Montana LDS missionary hit by truck, hospitalized while serving Salt Lake City mission

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A missionary with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was hospitalized over the weekend after being struck by a pick-up truck in Salt Lake County.

A Church spokesperson confirmed that Sister Hillary Lamphere from Ronan, Montana was hospitalized with serious injuries on Friday, Feb. 9 while serving in the Utah Salt Lake City West mission.

Unified Police Department said the crash happened around 6:45 p.m. near 2800 S 8000 W in Magna.

“Sister Lamphere’s parents are grateful for the prayers being offered for their daughter and the comfort and support they are receiving from family and friends,” said the Church in a statement.

Details on the crash and the circumstances surrounding the incident are currently unknown. A spokesperson with the Church did not disclose Lamphere’s current condition as of Monday, Feb. 12.
