Montana All-Stars again sweep Wyoming's

Jun. 11—LOCKWOOD — Montana made it six straight sweeps Saturday, taking both games in its All-Stars basketball series with Wyoming at Lockwood High School.

The Montana girls, getting 13 points from Laurel's Alyse Aby, pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat Wyoming 82-62.

The Montana boys followed the same trail as in their Friday win, outscoring Wyoming 58-35 in the second half to win 101-66.

Colstrip's Malea Egan and Helena High's Alex Bullock added 12 points each for Montana, which saw a 13-point halftime lead (37-24) pared to five at one point. The hosts led 59-51 after three quarters but outscored Wyoming 23-11 from there.

Flathead's Maddy Moy chipped in six points to a balanced attack. Hamilton's Layne Kearns, who torched Wyoming for 22 points in Gillette on Friday, had eight on Saturday.

It was the 12th straight win for Montana, which leads the girls series 39-13.

Montana boys 101, Wyoming 66

Montana's 22nd straight win in the boys series, all under head coach Steve Keller (22-0), started becoming reality in the second quarter when the hosts opened up a 45-31 lead.

Seth Amunrud of Manhattan Christian scored a game-high 21 points, and Lewistown's Royce Robinson and Eli Hunter of Gallatin added 18 each.

Amunrud hit five 3-pointers, including a buzzer-beater from near midcourt to end the third quarter that put Montana up 73-49.

Three more Montanans reached double figures: Connor Dick (Hellgate) had 14 points, Lane Love (Billings Skyview) had 11 and Dougie Peoples (Butte Central) chipped in 10.

Glacier High pivot Noah Dowler had four points for the winners, who lead the series 67-27 all-time.
