With summer just around the corner, three of the four outdoor municipal pools in Lubbock are set to open on May 27 under normal operating hours.

The Montelongo Pool located in Rogers Park has delayed its summer opening until June 11 because of a leak found during the pre-set up of the pools, according to a statement from the city of Lubbock. The Parks and Recreation Department has a contractor scheduled to make necessary repairs.

The rest of the city pools are scheduled to open on Friday, May 27 and operate under normal hours. These hours are Tuesday- Sunday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.

These pools include:

· Clapp Pool, located in Clapp Park

· Maxey Pool, located in Maxey Park

· Mae Simmons Pool, located in Mae Simmons Park

All adults over the age of 18 must pay $3 to enter the pool while for ages 3-17 it is $2 per person. If a child is below the age of 2, they are free to enter at no charge.

Adults may rent out any of the pools at least seven days in advance of the event and can schedule it for Thursday- Sunday from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. On the City of Lubbock website, it says it is $175 to rent the pool if a party includes up to 75 people. For a party of 76-125 it is $275.
