Monterey County COVID-19 vaccine tracker: 70% of people fully vaccinated

Some 70% of people living in Monterey County are fully vaccinated as of Jan. 31, according to data from California Department of Public Health.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention considers someone fully vaccinated two weeks after they've been given a single-dose shot (Johnson & Johnson) or a second shot (either Pfizer or Moderna).

California reported 8,427,782 total cases of coronavirus, an increase of 6% from the week before.

The five counties with the highest percentage of their population fully vaccinated in California as of Jan. 31 are Marin County (85%), Imperial County (85%), Santa Clara County (84%), San Francisco County (83%) and San Mateo County (82%).
