New Montgomery County officials take oath of office

Montgomery County has a new slate of elected officials after Tuesday’s late-afternoon swearing-in ceremony at the courthouse.

The newly sworn-in officials were elected in the Aug. 4 County General election.

Exiting Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett presided over the Tuesday ceremonies and administered the oath of office, joined by Circuit Court Judge Jill Ayers, retiring County Clerk Kellie Jackson and retiring General Sessions Judge Wayne Shelton.

The newly-sworn in include:

  • Montgomery County Mayor Wes Golden

  • Sheriff John Fuson

  • County Clerk Teresa Cottrell

  • Register of Deeds Julie C. Runyon

  • Circuit Court Clerk Wendy J. Davis

  • Trustee Kimberly Wiggins

  • County commissioners: Nathan Burkholder, William “Billy” Frye, Ryan Gallant, Jason Knight, Michael Lankford, Jorge Padro, Autumn Simmons, Jeremiah Walker and David Shelton, plus returning commissioners were also administered the oath.

  • School Board members: Carol Berry, Jimmie Garland, Aron Maberry, and Herbert Nelson.
