Montgomery man injured in Sunday morning fire

A 41-year-old Montgomery man was injured in an early Sunday morning fire.

Units from Montgomery Fire and Rescue went to the 5500 block of Carriage Brook Road about 3:40 a.m. and found the structure well involved with fire, said Asst. Chief Stanley L. Cooper, a spokesman for MFR.

A second alarm was called in, and Engines 3 and 13, Truck 45, Rescue 97 and Car 32 responded. The fire was on the second floor of the structure. It was contained before it spread to nearby structures.

A man who had suffered secondary burns was found of the first floor, Cooper said. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment. His name and condition at the time he was taken to the hospital were not released.
