CAMDEN, N.J.–The Philadelphia 76ers knew what they had to address in the offseason as their additions were all focused on toughness and adding two-way players to the roster. There have been too many times when the Sixers came up short in both of those departments.

President Daryl Morey and the front office went out and fixed those issues with the additions of guys such as PJ Tucker, De’Anthony Melton, Danuel House Jr., and Montrezl Harrell. Those new players are expected to be a big help to this team on the floor and be able to give Philadelphia a big boost in the playoffs on their way to chasing a title.

At the team’s media day on Monday at their practice facility in Camden, NJ, Harrell, and the other new additions reacted to joining the Sixers as they prepare for the new season.

Montrezl Harrell

“It was definitely an opportunity for me to be able to get back with a coaching staff that I’m kinda used to. A coaching staff I’ve been under and Doc (Rivers) was the one actually gave me my opportunity to actually be able to come along as a player in this league, really so it really wasn’t a hard decision to be able to come here. Definitely, with the rotation that they have and the things that they’ve built over time and seeing the transition and the way that they’re angling to go, I just felt like I fit that interest in where I want to be.”

De'Anthony Melton

“I think given my play style, what the team brought me here to do is just impact the game every which way possible. So that’s offensively, defensively, getting a loose ball, rebound, guarding somebody, so I think I’ll fit in perfectly with them. I think everybody understands what we’re trying to do. We got to do it as a team.”

Danuel House Jr.

“They have great potential here. A good coaching staff and a great organization and it has a lot of tradition so I saw a great opportunity.”

More House Jr.

“The way everything was playing out, I guess it’s a higher power, it makes everything comfortable when I did make my decision when they did call me. So having that comfort and playing with players who have played with you and know your game, that’s always gonna make me feel at ease so that’s why I decided to come here. Like I said, a winning roster, a winning coach, we want to win here so that’s the focus.”
