In the mood of Alexis Mabille: "Each collection has its challenges in terms of shape"

Designer Alexis Mabille is a Paris Fashion Week regular.

On the occasion of Paris ready-to-wear fashion week (September 23-October 1), we caught up with French designer Alexis Mabille whose Spring-Summer 2015 collection will be unveiled on Wednesday, September 24 at 4:00 PM local time. He offered us insights into the inspirations behind his latest designs.

What's the key piece in this collection?
It's a tracksuit tuxedo -- half tuxedo, half sportswear. With its jacket, it sums up the attitude of the house pretty well.

Why?
Fashion, for a woman, is her sport, so to speak.

Which female icon could be the face of this collection?
Anjelica Huston, at the peak of her modeling career, even before she became an actress.

What was the initial spark or starting point for this season?
The freshness, fluidity, relaxation and nonchalance of a strong, assertive woman, terribly French and liberated...

Can you sum up the collection in one word? Why?
Frivolity. Because it conjures up a mix of enchantment, sex appeal and determination... I'm talking attitude in fashion terms.

What was the biggest challenge you encountered creating this collection?
Each collection has its challenges in terms of cut and mastering fabrics in order to embrace and have a sensual rapport with the female body.
