Moped driver identified after being hit by two vehicles that fled

A man died Sunday night after his moped was hit by two vehicles that both fled the scene, police said.

The crash happened in the 6100 block of Preston Highway at about 7:30. The driver of the moped, who was identified as 35-year-old David Scott Schweiss, was going northbound on Preston Highway when another driver made a left turn in front of the moped, Louisville Metro Police said. The vehicle fled the scene on Crestwood Avenue. Moments later, another vehicle going north struck Schweiss.

He was pronounced dead at the scene The LMPD Traffic Unit is investigating. Police ask that anyone with information, call 502 574-5673.
