More Than 10K Unemployment Insurance Claims Filed Last Week In Maryland

More than 10,000 unemployment claims were filed last week in Maryland, up slightly from the previous week.

- The number of Americans applying for unemployment dropped sharply this week, or rather last week. 576,000 people applied for benefits, one of the lowest weekly total since the pandemic began. Experts hope it's a sign that layoffs are easing as the economy recovers from the pandemic recession. Here in Maryland the weekly total actually went up slightly.
