Here are more than 14 ways to celebrate Milwaukee Day on April 14, from the Brewers' home opener to $4.14 beer deals
There's some competition for "the most wonderful time of the year." Milwaukee Day is coming up once again.
And this year, not only is it a day to celebrate our beloved city — it's also the Brewers' home opener.
Since 2010, "Milwaukee Day" has been celebrated on April 14 (4/14) since it has the same digits as Milwaukee's area code, 414.
From live music and art to $4.14 beers and brewery tours, here's a guide of ways to spend it in 2022.
Brewers home opener
Even the Brew Crew is getting into the 414 Day spirit. The game time of their home opener against the St. Louis Cardinals at American Family Field is 4:14 p.m.
"I think it’s the first time in the history of the team that we’ve ever started a game at that time," Brewers President Rick Schlesinger said in a previous Milwaukee Journal Sentinel report. "It’s somewhat serendipitous that our home opener is 414 day, which obviously has a lot of real meaning to the people of Milwaukee. So, we’re excited to have opening day, we’re excited that it’s on 414."
And if you plan on catching the game from the comfort of your couch or your favorite watering hole, it'll be broadcast on Bally Sports Wisconsin, which is available on Spectrum and DirecTV.
MKExpanded 414 Day Festival
Mocha Harris, the new organizer of the official Milwaukee Day group, is presenting the MKExpanded 414 Day Festival. This year, Harris replaced Milwaukee Day co-founders Andy Silverman and Brent Gohde as the holiday’s primary planner, according to a news release.
Harris and No Studios are collaborating for a Q&A on barbering and entrepreneurship with Anthony CRE$PO and a performance from Milwaukee native and Roc Nation signee Huey V on April 14 at No Studios, 1037 W. McKinley Ave. The event is free and starts at 7 p.m. To register, visit bit.ly/nostudios414.
There will be a 414 Film Day featuring Black Lens MKE at 9 p.m. April 15 at Company Brewing, 735 E. Center St., Harris said in an email.
Events also include a "4 One 4 All" community cleanup with Hittin Hard Radio from noon to 3 p.m. April 16, according to Harris. The cleanup area will be from 16th and National to 16th and Mitchell down to 6th and Mitchell, the event's flyer said.

Giant 414 flag at City Hall
414 Milwaukee — which sells 414 apparel, hats and products — will once again be unfurling the giant 414 Flag from the balcony of City Hall, the company said in an email.
“I’m so proud of Milwaukee's resilience," said Fred Gillich, 414 Milwaukee designer, in the email. "I believe in the people of Milwaukee — some of this best people in the world live right here. Go out, find them and make friends for a better future. This flag is my contribution to the pride we have in our hearts for our city."
The business' store, 207 E. Buffalo St. #318, opens early, at 10 a.m., on Milwaukee Day and will offer a free can of 414 Beer with purchases.
Live local music at The Cooperage, Company Brewing and Cactus Club
The Cooperage is hosting "the greatest party to celebrate the greatest day in the greatest city on Earth," according to the event's Facebook page.
There will be live music from Group of the Altos, You Win !!! and Gold Steps, as well as DJ sets from the Andys.
The party,at 822 S. Water St., starts at 7 p.m., and tickets ($7) can be purchased at bit.ly/3DI0TWh.
Milwaukee Record is presenting a Milwaukee Day Showcase at Company Brewing, the event's Facebook page said.
It'll feature Fox Face, Shle Berry and Devils Teeth.
Doors open at 8 p.m. for the 8:30 p.m. show. Tickets cost $10 in advance at bit.ly/3j5lDhy and $14 at the door.
Cactus Club's lineup features Klassik, Diet Lite, Funk Summit Bass Team, West Nile Crows and Dora Diamond, according to the venue's website. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m.
Attendees must be at least 18 years old. Proof of vaccination is required for entry.
Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased at bit.ly/cactusclub414.
Historic Milwaukee's 414 Day Sale
To celebrate 414 Day, Historic Milwaukee is having a three-day sale, new product launches and a food drive, according to its Facebook event page.
All neighborhood posters will be on sale for $4.14. The neighborhood combo poster will cost $15.86, which is a $4.14 savings off its regular $20 price tag.
New Milwaukee Feeds and Supplies the World playing cards ($10), 1,000-piece puzzle ($19.99) and key chain ($4) will be available.
The store, 235 E. Michigan St., is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 14 and 15, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 16. Or to shop online, visit historicmilwaukee.org/shop.
Historic Milwaukee is also helping collect food donations for Friedens Food Pantry from April 14-16. When someone brings in an unopened, unexpired shelf-stable food item, they'll receive a free Milwaukee Feeds the World key chain.
Food items they're accepting include:
Canned food products, including fruits, vegetables, meats and soups (pop tops are preferred since access to kitchen utensils can be limited).
Nut butters, such as, peanut, almond and cashew.
Boxed meals
Pasta, rice and mashed potatoes
Oatmeal and cereal
Canned sauces
$4.14 pints, double beer release and a mini market at Gathering Place Brewing
Gathering Place Brewing is serving up $4.14 pints of its Milwaukee-brewed beer, releasing two beers and hosting a Milwaukee Maker's Mini Market from 4 to 10 p.m., according to its Facebook event page. It's all going down at 811 E. Vienna Ave.
The double beer release will feature Slightly Askew, an unfiltered modern helles lager, and #shoehaze, a pale ale with El Dorado and Cascade hops, on draft and in four-packs to go.
The mini market will include digital portraits by Thomas Welcenbach, Jess Poisl's rubbishREMADE and more.
Beer, free food and giveaways at Indeed Brewing Company
The Experience Milwaukee podcast is teaming up with Indeed Brewing Company to throw a MKE Day party and commemorate four years of the pod, according to the event's Facebook page.
Indeed's taproom,530 S. 2nd St., will serve up $4.14 Hello Milwaukee beers. There will be free food from Transfer Pizzeria Café from 2 to 5 p.m. and treats available for purchase from Sweetly Baked.
There will be live music featuring Stally Cats from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and Sulestial from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Giveaways will include Koss headphones, FEW Spirits whiskey, Summerfest tickets, and Experience Milwaukee merch.
The event runs from noon to 7 p.m.
$4.14 Harley-Davidson Museum admission, extended hours
The Harley-Davidson Museum is offering tickets for $4.14 to be used on 414 Day, according to a news release. To receive this deal, tickets must be purchased in advance online.
"Whether you’re a 414 resident for life or just happen to be in town on this most festive day, it’s the perfect excuse to do something totally Milwaukee and visit the Harley-Davidson Museum," the news release said.
The H-D campus will also have extended hours that day, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. For more info or to purchase tickets, visit bit.ly/harley414day
Artist showcase at Wantable Cafe
Wantable Cafe, 123 E. Walker St., will be showcasing local artists for 414 Day.
There will be an assortment of artists painting live, as well as art vendors, according to the event's Facebook page. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Admission is free, but tickets are required. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP before the night of the event at bit.ly/wc414day.
Live art, music and a tap takeover at Elwood's
Elwood's Liquor & Tap is pulling out all the stops.
There will be live art by Banjo Tattoo & Co., live mural painting by Fred the Artist and live music, the event's Facebook page said. And the Brewers game will be shown on the bar's TVs.
Eagle Park Brewing Co. will be doing a tap takeover, and there will be food from ROLLMKE.
Limited-edition T-shirts will also be for sale.
Elwood's, 1111 N. Water St., will open at 2 p.m. that day.
$4.14 Sprecher Brewery tours
Sprecher Brewery — metro Milwaukee's longest-running craft brewery — will be offering a $4.14 pricing for all its brewery tours on April 14, according to a news release. Children ages 5 and under receive free admission.
"Learn about Sprecher Brewery’s history and lore, see the brewhouse and production line, and sip on craft beer, craft soda, and our famous root beer," the news release said.
The "family-friendly" tours, which are about 45 minutes long, include four craft beers and unlimited craft sodas on tap.
Tours at the $4.14 promo price can be booked online at bit.ly/414tour. People may be able to book the day of at the brewery,701 W. Glendale Ave., Glendale, but tour spots are first come, first served. Making reservations ahead of time is encouraged, the news release said.
Attendees should enter through the retail shop and check in at the register, where they'll receive tour wristbands and a commemorative tour glass.
Wisconsin artists showcase at Inspiration Studios
Mixed media artist and creative director Trayfreshh is putting on a gallery-style art exhibition at Inspiration Studios, 1500 S. 73rd St., West Allis, to celebrate Milwaukee on April 17.
The event, which runs from noon to 5 p.m., will feature more than 15 Wisconsin artists "expressing their love of Milwaukee culture through various mediums of artistic expressionism," according to an email from the organizer.
The event is free to attend and open to all ages.
$4.14 pints at Lakefront Brewery
From open to close April 14, pints at Lakefront Brewery will be $4.14, according to the event's Facebook page.
"Stop down and celebrate with the classic Milwaukee favorites like Riverwest Stein and Eastside Dark or try some of our new offerings!"
Bottle release, party at Great Lakes Distillery
Great Lakes Distillery, 616 W. Virginia St., will be releasing two new products on Milwaukee Day: Good Land Nocinco, which is made with Wisconsin grown black walnuts, and Bottled in Bond Banana Brandy, the event's Facebook page said.
The party, which runs from noon to 9 p.m., will feature samples of both new spirits. There will also be banana cookies and walnut cookies made with the new products available from Crumbles Confectionary.
The popcorn machine will also be making its return to the tasting room with fresh popcorn and Penzeys seasoning.
Free iced sugar cookies at select UW Credit Union locations
Milwaukee-area UW Credit Union locations are giving away free iced sugar cookies on April 14 while supplies last, according to a news release.
The individually wrapped cookies will be from Edible Impressions in Mequon and will include a sticker that lists their ingredients.
Participating branches include Wauwatosa, Waukesha, Mayfair, Franklin, New Berlin, UW-Milwaukee campus, Bayshore and West Allis.
People can get the cookies by stopping into one of the branches or by visiting the drive-thru. This is not restricted to the credit union's members.
Milwaukee flag shirts, beer deal at Urban Harvest Brewing Co.
Urban Harvest Brewing Co., 1024 S. 5th St., is offering $4 pints of its 414 Golden Ale, according to the company's Facebook page.
Milwaukee flag logo T-shirts will also be for sale for $14.
Milwaukee print giveaways
Mb Squared Photography will be doing two Milwaukee print giveaways on Milwaukee Day: One on Facebook and one on Instagram, Harris said in an email.
