More than 15,000 people are lottery winners after a Thursday drawing.
The South Carolina Education Lottery said 15,103 people played the winning 7-7-7 combination in Thursday’s Pick 3 game.
Depending on the price paid for the ticket, Pick 3 winners can claim either a $250 or $500 prize per play. The total payout is expected to be more than $3.7 million, the lottery said.
Triple-number combinations are the most popular played sequences, with Thursday’s evening drawing producing nearly 16 times the number of wins compared to the week prior, the South Carolina Education Lottery said in a news release.
This is the 15th time “7–7–7” has been drawn by the lottery, with the most recent time being on Christmas of last year.
