Let's be real—there are products you buy because they look cool or seem handy but aren't reallyyy all that useful. We've all bought them, sometimes after a glass of wine or two or during a late-night shopping haul. It happens. But then there are products that look cool, seem handy, and actually become part of your routine. The DASH Rapid Egg Cooker definitely falls into the latter category.

The handy appliance, which cooks up to six eggs in almost any style you want with minimal work on your end, has the stats to back it up: There are more than 11,000 reviews on Amazon, 9,800-plus of which give it four or five stars (of that, it's overwhelmingly 5 stars). And last Amazon Prime Day, when it was marked down 25 percent, shoppers bought more than 40,000 of them (!!), PEOPLE reports.

Egg-cellent new: This Prime Day, the black and red 12-egg models are marked down 55 percent through 6:30 p.m. EST July 16!

Even if you miss the deal, the price point is budget-friendly year round; right now, you can snag a six egg cooker on Amazon for $19. Personally, I bought one a few months ago because I like hard-boiled eggs but hate making them. Let me tell you, it works like a CHARM—eggs are perfectly cooked in 15 minutes or less, depending on whether you're hard-boiling, soft-boiling, poaching, scrambling, or making omelettes (yep, it does it all). My hard-boiled eggs are always easy to crack and peel and have a consistent texture inside.

The cooker itself is impossibly lightweight, so you can move it around or store it in a lower cabinet with ease. It's also SO easy to use: There's only one button to turn it on, and a small measuring cup (included with purchase) tells you exactly how much water to put in for your desired egg texture.

The only downside: The buzzer to let you know eggs are ready is LOUD. One reviewer likened it to a screeching bat, and I can attest to the truth of that. However, it's still WELL worth the buy—just warn your family/roommates before you start cooking. Or, buy the new 7-egg express cooker; it plays a song instead of the loud buzzer!
