More than 400 out of power in York, Chester SC as rainy weather wind move through

Around 400 customers were without power Wednesday in York and Chester counties as a storm with wind gusts and some heavy rain went through the area, according to weather officials and utilities.

The Duke Energy outage map around noon showed more than 225 outages for York and Chester counties. That number dropped from around 450 around 11 a.m.

The outage map for York Electric Cooperative showed almost 130 outages before noon.

The Rock Hill Utilities outage map showed more than 100 outages.

York County Emergency Management Director Chuck Haynes said there were a few downed trees but flooding had not been reported.

Lancaster County Emergency Management Director Darren Player said as of noon there were no reports of flooding or damage.

A bulletin was issued by the National Weather Service about the potential for 40 MPH winds and rain for the eastern areas of York and Chester counties, upper Lancaster County and into parts of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County and Union County in North Carolina.
