Two suspects have now been detained in association with the shooting death of 18-year-old Jefferson football standout Elijah Dewitt.

Chandler Zion Richardson, 19, was taken into custody at a QT gas station on Highway 76 and interviewed by detectives, WXIA TV in Atlanta reported Thursday.

Kemare Matthew Bryan, 18, of Lawrenceville, was detained detained on Friday, WSB-TV reported, after the two were spotted in a white Mini Cooper automobile.

The pair are being held inside the Anderson County Detention Center and are expected to appear before a judge at 4 p.m. Friday before being extradited to Georgia, Fox Carolina reports.

Dewitt was shot and killed around 9 p.m. on Wednesday outside a Dave & Busters in the Sugarloaf Mills mall in Lawrenceville.

In a frantic 911 call obtained by the Athens Banner-Herald in an open records request, a Dave & Busters manager attempted to save Dewitt's life.

The 911 dispatcher talked the manager through CPR steps while others in the background were screaming.

The manager, whose name was inaudible, said during the call that he could barely hear the dispatcher because of too many people at the scene.

The manager also could not identify where nor how many times Dewitt had been shot.

The dispatcher remained on the 2-minute, 12-second call until an ambulance arrived.

Another caller described seeing a "pretty young" suspect in dark clothes running across the parking lot with a gun and getting into vehicle.

A white Kia is how a third caller described the suspects' vehicle after asking witnesses at the scene what they had seen.

Dewitt's family speaks about shooting death

Dewitt's aunt, Lauren Dewitt, posted a response on Facebook Thursday evening.

"Our first baby boy, our perfect blonde hair, blue eyed dream had been taken from us, murdered for no warranted reason," she posted. "Elijah Daniel DeWitt, barely 18 years old, he was a child. He was our child, but he was also our Warrior. He was a protector of his family, his sister, the love of his life Bailey, and to those of you that shared a field with him.

"He loved big, he was/is loved by a whole community and he changed the lives of those he encountered. Elijah was an exceptional boy and a great, great man.

Dewitt led Jefferson with 22 catches for 594 yards and five touchdowns this season. Playing defensive back, he also had 22 tackles and an interception.

On Thursday, an outpouring amount of support came from the Athens-area community and the state of Georgia.

Before its game against Loganville on Thursday, Clarke Central held a moment of silence in remembrance of Dewitt, who played against Clarke Central just two weeks prior.
