Through their investigation, police determined that a white Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck was driving north on West Commons Boulevard when it crested a hill and hit a black Ford Expedition that was stopped at the intersection with Reads Way.

The impact caused the Ford to drive into a school bus from Academia Antonia Alonso. The school bus was a lane over and also stopped at the red light.

In addition to the 14 children who were injured, the bus driver and driver of the Ford were taken to the hospital.

Police cited the 35-year-old driver of the pickup with inattentive driving.
