More than a dozen people arrested for gambling, drugs in gated Horry County neighborhood

SLED arrested 13 people on gambling and drug charges in Horry County in mid-January, according to a press release sent out on Tuesday.

The arrests were made on Viejas Drive, which is a gated Horry County neighborhood.

Eleven people were charged with misdemeanors for gambling and two people were charged for renting a property for gambling. The arrest warrant says that they were playing “illegal poker card games.”

Matthew Gough, 37, was charged with gambling and possession with intent to distribute cocaine and fentanyl. His arrest warrant says he had between two grains and 4 grams of fentanyl and between 1 and 10 grams of cocaine.

They were arrested on Jan. 11 and booked into J. Rueben Long Detention Center. All of the arrested have been released on bond.

The charges will be prosecuted in the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office, the press release states.
