There are more than fireworks happening in Shreveport and Bossier City this weekend

Twilight Talkies movie night at Norton Art Gallery in Shreveport.

The first weekend of July will be packed full of things to do all weekend long whether you're looking for a movie night with the family or wanting to browse around a farmers market.

Friday, July 1

  • Twilight Talkies at the R.W. Norton Art Gallery - Grab your blankets and bring the kids to the Norton's front lawn for a free movie night. "The Sandlot" will be on the big screen at 8 p.m. and food trucks Hot Dawg Hut, Yeero-Yeero, Frios Gourmet Pops, Dripp Donuts and Mama's Popcorn will set up at 6 p.m. The R.W. Norton Art Gallery is located at 4747 Cresswell Ave. in Shreveport.

  • Amber Waves of Pain Live Pro Wrestling at Great Raft Brewing - Round 2 of of live pro wrestling will kick off July 4th weekend to celebrate the return of Great Raft's All-American Amber. Doors open at Noon with food from the Provisions kitchen and pre-gaming before the wrestling off at 6 p.m. Great Raft 1251 Dalzell St. in Shreveport.

  • Artipsy Karaoke Paint Party at Artipsy - Come out for a karaoke paint party at this 21+ up event. Paint session is $35 / person will supplies included and drinks can be purchased at the bar. Check out the Artipsy Facebook page to purchase tickets. Artipsy is located at 450 Clyde Fant Pkwy Ste. 600 in Shreveport.

Saturday, July 2

  • Bear's Fest 2022 at Bear's - From 1 p.m. - 4 a.m. come out to Bear's to celebrate and support local musicians and artists. 13 bands and four DJs will be entertaining crowds all night long. This is a 21+ up event and tickets are $15 / each. Bear's is located at 1401 Fairfield Ave. in Shreveport.

  • Dog Days of Summer at the Bossier City Farmers Market - Bring your best four-legged friend to the pet-friendly farmers market in Bossier City. Over 70 vendors will be set up with homemade crafts, treats and more with special vendors for your pet. This free event will have grassy areas, cooling tents and an ice pool for them to stay cool. The market will be from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and is located at 2950 US-79 in Bossier City.

  • Game Day at Sugar and Cream Coffeehouse - Come out to Sugar and Cream Coffeehouse for a day of games and coffee with friends. From 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. you can play games like Uno, Monopoly, Dominos and more at this free event. Sugar and Cream Coffeehouse is located at 5500 Jewella Ave. in Shreveport.
