Krispy Kreme is getting a jump on strawberry season with the return of the fruit-flavored treat that caused a “glaze craze” last year.
Almost to the day a year ago, the Winston-Salem, N.C.-based doughnut chain released strawberry, key lime and lemon doughnuts for a limited time.
Of the three innovative flavors, the strawberry version made such an impact that the chain is re-releasing it next week.
Beginning April 26, customers can purchase the Strawberry Glazed and Strawberry Kreme Filled Doughnuts.
The Strawberry Glazed Doughnut is a signature Original Glazed Krispy Kreme that’s topped with strawberry glaze with strawberry flavor.
The Strawberry Kreme Filled Doughnut is that doughnut stuffed with a trademarked Strawberry Kreme Filling.
“Last year, fans couldn’t get enough of Strawberry Glaze and have been asking for it to come back ever since,” Krispy Kreme chief marketing Dave Skena, officer said in Thursday’s announcement. “So we’re bringing it back. Hurry in and enjoy!”
As with most of its latest flavored offerings, the strawberry doughnut will only last for a limited time.
