More Rain is on the way with Med City nail salon expansion

Mar. 9—After years of running a popular one-woman salon, Rayngsey Sin is taking her Med City nail business to the next level with a major expansion.

Work is underway to build a 1,500 square-foot Rain Nail Salon in Suite 8 in the Crossroads Shopping Center at 1201 S. Broadway Ave. That's the spot that previously housed the Beef Jerky Outlet store.

Sin says the new salon, which she hopes to open in June, will feature nine manicure tables and eight pedicure spa chairs. Rain Nail will have four employees plus Sin providing a full range of nail services.

"It's going to be a big step up for me," she said.

For more than three years, Sin has operated a small space inside the Sola Salon Studios, also in the Crossroads Shopping Center. Over time, her reputation and clientele base grew to where she is always booked.

"I'm just so busy. I don't have time to keep up with all of my clients," she said. "I always wanted to expand my business... it has always been my dream, but I never had the confidence to do it. My husband (Kim Sin) told me that I should do it and then I did it."

Expanding to have multiple nail chairs and stations staffed by a team of employees means Sin will be able accommodate requests that she has not been able to do in her small, one-woman shop.

"We'll be able to host birthday parties and bridal parties," she said. "My staff and I can't wait to open the new salon."
