More snow heads to the Eastern Shore Thursday

A snow storm moving across the Midwest and changing course toward the Mid Atlantic will spur some wintry weather for the region on Thursday.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), "Salisbury and areas north can expect rain before noon, then rain and snow between noon and 1 p.m., then snow after 1 p.m. Temperature will rise to near 40 degrees by 9 a.m., then fall to around 29 degrees during the remainder of the day."

West winds will fluctuate from 5 to 14 miles per hour becoming north in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 23 miles per hour. The chance of precipitation is 90% with new snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

"Snow likely, mainly before 7 p.m. Mostly cloudy conditions will persist with a low around 19 degrees. North winds will be around 13 miles per hour," the weather service said.

It added the chance of precipitation overnight is 60% with new snow accumulation will be less than a half inch possible.

The region was the subject of a Hazardous Weather Outlook noting this could result in hazardous travel conditions during the Thursday evening commute.

The possibility of snow continues into Friday night, according to the National Weather Service, with a low of about 18 and a chance of precipitation of 70%. Snow is also like before noon Saturday, with cloudy skies gradually becoming mostly sunny and a high near 32 degrees and a chance of precipitation of 60%.

Winter weather is also expected through the weekend with the Wakefield NWS office forecasting snow likely on Friday night. It will be cloudy, with a low around 18 degrees. There is a chance of precipitation of 70%. Saturday, snow will be likely before noon. It will also be cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 32 degrees. There is a chances of precipitation around 60% later in the day.
