The first substantial snowfall of the season dropped several inches of snow on the Portage County area on Sunday into Monday, causing a slippery Monday morning commute. And there's more on the way.

The National Weather Service said a clipper system was to arrive Monday night in northern Ohio and bring widespread snow with it.

Anywhere from 1 to 2 inches of snow was expected to fall by this morning, with snow showers expected to end by about 7 a.m.

The snow won't stick around for long, with temperatures today rising into the 40s by afternoon and rain showers expected Wednesday with temperatures in the 40s.

The warmest day of the week should be Thursday with the expected highs in the lower 50s.

Temperatures will remain in the 40s for the rest of the week with the next chance of rain and snow coming Sunday.
