More stores in Central Pennsylvania mall to close

HARRISBURG, pa. (WHTM) — Some stores in the Harrisburg Mall will close this week. In December, several got eviction notices, saying they needed to be out by January 31.

Much of the mall is expected to be demolished. Last month, St John Properties shared their vision for a new mixed-use development with office, retail, and dining space.

According to the Swatara Township Planning Commission, demolition permits have been issued to the mall owner. Demolition is expected to start this March. The planning commission would also have to approve the redevelopment plans.

Mall owners have not yet filed any formal plans. Some stores, including 2nd and Charles, tell abc27 they did not receive eviction notices.

It is unclear what the future is for those stores.
