Indiana Department of Transportation contractor HIS Constructors plans to resume work next week at the Ind. 252 bridge over West Fork Crooked Creek in Morgan County, according to a press release. The bridge is located just over a mile west of Ind. 135 near Morgantown.

As early as Monday, Dec. 5, crews will be on site to begin removal of a concrete structure due to material issues that arose following initial installation earlier this year. The contractor will continue work throughout the winter as weather allows, with the goal of being ready for asphalt paving and switching traffic next spring.

Temporary traffic signals will remain in place while work is in progress. Anticipated completion for the bridge replacement project is currently May of 2023, depending upon weather and other factors. The $2 million contract also includes the recently-reopened structure replacement project on Ind. 135 north of Trafalgar.

INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and consider worker safety when traveling through construction zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
