Morgan County woman dead after car collides with truck on U.S. 67

A Roodhouse woman died Tuesday after a truck collided with her car along U.S. 67 in Morgan County.

Illinois State Police reported Thursday that Karen Crabtree, 66, died about 7:30 a.m. after her 2017 Subaru Forester was hit by a 2010 yellow Freightliner straight truck. According to police, the truck was traveling east on Woodson Winchester Road and failed to yield the right of way. Crabtree was traveling north along U.S. 67 at the time of the crash.

Crabtree's car left the road and careened into a ditch. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck, Jonathan Price, 28, of Pittsfield, was uninjured and was cited for failure to yield the right of way. Traffic at the intersection of U.S. 67 and Woodson Winchester Road was closed for several hours following the incident, before reopening around 1:14 p.m. Tuesday.

ISP is continuing to investigate the crash.
