Morgan, Lewis & Bockius continues to expand in Singapore, hiring a fund formation partner.

Joel Seow joins Morgan Lewis Stamford after just four months as a legal consultant at Dymon Asia Capital, an alternative investment management firm based in Singapore.

Seow specialises in fund formation work in private equity funds, venture capital funds, real estate funds, infrastructure funds and hedge funds. Besides transactional work, he also advises on licensing and regulatory requirements of operating fund management businesses in Singapore.

“Our Singapore office assists clients throughout the region and the world on private investment and cross-border financial transactions, making Joel’s background a perfect fit for our team,” said Jami McKeon, chair of Morgan Lewis, in a statement.

In 2014, Seow advised Dymon Asia Capital on establishing a $500 million fund with Singaporean sovereign wealth fund Temasek Holdings Pte. Ltd.

Before joining Dymon Asia Capital in January, Seow practised at Sidley Austin for five and a half years – the last four as counsel. Prior to Sidley, he also practised at Clifford Chance in Singapore and at Dechert in London.

In February, Morgan Lewis added a corporate partner in Singapore, Vanessa Ng, from local firm Fortis Law Corp., where Ng co-led the corporate finance and corporate commercial practice group.
