The Jacksonville offices of Morgan & Morgan law services are about to move. But they’ll still be in the city’s downtown area.
Morgan & Morgan will be leaving their offices at the VyStar Credit Union Tower on Laura Street to enter new offices in Brooklyn. The law firm received permit approval from Jacksonville building officials to renovate the 11th and 12th floors of existing space at 501 Riverside Ave.
The cost will run about $834,000, according to the filings. Opus Group is the contractor.

Gutter Helmet plans to expand
Gutter Helmet of North Florida is expanding the company’s facilities in Jacksonville.
The business that provides protection for gutters on homes and commercial structures is adding a new building at 2190 S. St. Johns Bluff Road, according to the recently approved city permit.
It will be 23,580 square feet on 1.62 acres and cost $2.3 million, according to the permit. Bradley’s Construction Enterprises Inc. is the contractor.
Massive JEA water works project hits next phase
The ongoing work on a water reclamation facility being constructed in southern Jacksonville is entering a new phase at about $36.5 million combined.
JEA officials announced this year they’d begin building the massive facility at 11458 Apex Trail. The total cost of the project is projected to be $150 million.
The utility this month received four permits for the latest components including the addition of bioreactors, storage tanks, headworks and other support mechanical gear.
The facility near Florida 9B and the existing Greenland Energy Center is the city’s first new water reclamation facility to be built in 45 years.
The Haskell Co. is the contractor, and the project is expected to be completed in 2024.
