Only 11 dates into his seven-month global tour, current Billboard chart-dominating country superstar Morgan Wallen needs vocal rest.

"After last night's show I started losing my voice so I spent the day resting up, talking to my doctor and working through my vocal exercises trying to get better. I really thought I'd be able to take the stage and it kills me to deliver this so close to showtime, but my voice is shot and I am unable to sing," stated the 2022 Academy of Country Music Album of the Year winner via social media just before his scheduled performance time at the University of Mississippi Rebels' Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi.

"All tickets will be refunded at point of purchase. I am so sorry, I promise you guys I tried everything I could."

"Ladies & Gentlemen, Unfortunately Morgan has lost his voice and is unable to perform tonight – therefore tonight's show has been cancelled. Please make your way safely to the stadium exits. Refunds for tonight's event will be available at point of purchase," stated a post on a massive stage screen.

HARDY, ERNEST and Nate Smith performed their supporting sets as scheduled before Wallen's cancellation announcement.

His next scheduled tour date is at Grand Rapids, Michigan's Van Andel Arena, on April 27.

Wallen's currently achieving unparalleled success with his March 2023-released album "One Thing At A Time."

Its 36 tracks earned nearly 500 million on-demand streams as all 36 tracks entered the Billboard Hot 100 in the wee of the record's release. That success broke the record set by Drake for most songs by an artist on the chart at one time and the record for most debuts on the chart, with 27.

This keyed Wallen's single "Last Night" to the top of Billboard's all-genre Hot 100 charts -- his first time on top of the countdown.

Regarding vocal rest during unparalleled success, Wallen's issues on his 63-date tour mirror those of Adele a decade prior.

Famously, in 2011, Adele scheduled a 51-date world tour amid the 14-time platinum-selling success of her January 2011-released album "21."

In a 2011 ABC interview, Dr. Gaelyn Garrett, Senior Executive Medical Director of Nashville's Vanderbilt Voice Center, stated, "I'll put someone on complete voice rest (meaning no singing or talking) for a week. Then I'll check them again in a week to make sure there's no recurrent bleed."

One week of vocal rest for Wallen during his current tour cycle would take him off the road for his dates on April 27 at Grand Rapids' Van Andel Arena, April 28 at Moline's Vibrant Arena, and April 29 at Lincoln, Nebraska's Pinnacle Bank Arena. The date following that trio of shows is in Jacksonville, Florida, at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena on May 4.
