Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will be returning to This Morning very soon.

The daytime chat show duo have been on summer holidays since early July, with Eamonn Holmes, Ruth Langsford, Rochelle Humes and Alison Hammond regularly filling in over the last several weeks.

However, ITV has now confirmed to Digital Spy that Holly and Phillip will be back on This Morning in just over two weeks, returning as hosts on Tuesday, September 1.

Holly and Phillip's summer holidays have still been fairly memorable for This Morning, including one odd moment where a guest was distracted by unexplained whispering during his interview segment.

This week, Eamonn and Ruth also had to publicly apologise when their new money expert Katie Morley swore while advising a phone caller about getting a particular refund.

"Oh I'm so sorry darling, that's shit," Katie blurted out.

As Katie covered her mouth in shock, Ruth then stepped in and told viewers: "I do apologise for that!"

Alison Hammond has been a huge hit, as always, while standing in for Holly and Phil, though she recently ruled out ever taking over This Morning as a regular presenter.

When a fan recently suggested it would be "too much" for her to actually host the show on a full-time basis, Alison tweeted back: "Agree."

Alison's fans can hear her hosting her own BBC Radio 2 show over the next two Saturday afternoons as she fills in for friend and fellow This Morning presenter Rylan Clark-Neal.
