This Morning’s Alison Hammond has opened up about whether she’s engaged to her partner Ben Hawkins.

On today's (February 24) This Morning Dermot O’Leary greeted his co-host by congratulating her on her engagement, while wedding bells rung in the background

"Alison, I can't believe you didn't tell us that you are going to get married! This is the most amazing... I read it in the papers!" he jokingly said.

Upon hearing all this, Alison quickly squashed all rumours, saying that the news was, in fact, not true.

"Fake news", she told Dermot, before saying "cut the music", which caused the wedding bells in the studio to come to a screeching halt.

"It's fake news babes, I'm so sorry. I'm not engaged. I told you that whenever I'm engaged or getting married, I'll be the first one to tell you,” she said to Dermot, who feigned shock and disappointment.

She then joked that if she ever did get engaged, she would be blasting that news all over her Instagram and TikTok, and there will most definitely be a ring to show off.

Dermot then joked that he was disappointed that he won’t get to walk Alison down the aisle, to which she said, "You never know, one day it might happen!"

Alison and her boyfriend Ben have been together for two years, with their relationship being kept mostly out of the spotlight.

Engagement rumours started going around when Ben’s father, Colin, revealed that the pair had proposed to one another.

He told Mail Online: "I do know they have both proposed to one another, but there are no rings that I know of."

This Morning airs on weekdays from 10am on ITV1.
