This Morning presenter Alison Hammond took a nasty fall in her garden recently.

During yesterday's (July 2) edition of the show, she recalled this "awful" experience in front of co-stars Dermot O'Leary and Rustie Lee, who were split in their reactions: Dermot anxious and Rustie couldn't contain her amusement.

Thanks to some CCTV installed around her house, Alison was able to show viewers exactly what exactly happened, with her brother forced into action when she tumbled over on the wet paving.

Setting the scene, the TV star said: "I started walking out, had the rain on my face, my arms were out and something terrible happened... I [slipped]!"

When the camera picks her up mid-slip, a heart emoji covered Alison's "modesty" on the show, because apparently she likes to unburden herself of underwear after a day's work.

"It's actually quite a bad fall you know," she added, before admitting she initially thought she'd broken her leg.

Continuing her painful story, Alison told Dermot and Rustie: "It was a trauma! Not only that... then this vein came on the back of my knee right, I was like, 'Oh my God I've got a DVT [deep vein thrombosis].'"

Visiting the doctor straight away, she was told to go to hospital to have it checked out, where she stayed for around seven hours before being told everything was fine and there was no DVT present.

This Morning airs on weekdays from 10am on ITV.
