This Morning star Dermot O'Leary has shared a rare tribute to co-presenter Alison Hammond as she finished her stage role, telling fans "all hail the queen".

Sharing the post to mark the end of Hammond's stint in pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk, O'Leary shared a sweet black-and-white photo of the pair on his Instagram, adding that he "couldn't be more proud" of his co-host.

"All hail the queen. Her last panto today, at her beloved Birmingham Hippodrome," he wrote in the caption. "Saw her yesterday, with her wonderful cast, and couldn't be more proud.

"Thanks darlin," Hammond replied, while This Morning co-host Rochelle Humes added: "The best picture ever!!!!!! One for a frame."

Hammond has been starring in the pantomime alongside former EastEnders star Samantha Womack, which concluded its month-long run at the Birmingham Hippodrome last night (January 28).

The presenter shared a series of images to her Instagram Stories to mark her final day on stage, as well as photos from O'Leary's visit alongside his wife Dee Koppang O'Leary.

"You're so golden @dermotoleary @deekoppangoleary," she wrote in one post, which featured a mirror selfie of the trio, while sharing the same image of her and O'Leary together in another post alongside a heart emoji.

Hammond was moved to tears on This Morning's Christmas Day special last month when she learned that the team had named a seat after her at the Hippodrome "in perpetuity, forever".

As she emotionally told O'Leary and This Morning's viewers what the dedication would have meant to her late mother Maria, he added that they had also named the neighbouring seat in her honour.

"We've got the next seat along, we've just named it after your mother," he explained.

"We've talked about it many times that one of her favourite musicals was West Side Story so we've put 'the most beautiful sound I ever heard, Maria' on there."

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 & ITVX.
