Josie Gibson has reacted to reports that This Morning presenters Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond don't get along.

The pair currently present the ITV show on Fridays, as well as stepping in to cover Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby over holiday periods.

However it has been claimed that the pair don't get on, leading to tensions off-air.

According to regular contributor Josie, that couldn't be further from the truth with her saying: "Those two are like brother and sister.

"I don't know what's been written but they really do get on. Dermot worships Alison and Alison loves Dermot," she continued to new magazine.

"She bought him a lovely watch not long ago, and they go round to each other's houses for dinner.

"You don't buy people watches and go round to their house if you don't like them, do you?"

A spokesperson for ITV recently denied the claims, saying: "Despite the challenges of starting their on-screen partnership during a pandemic, Alison and Dermot have developed a firm friendship and their chemistry has proved a ratings success.

"Since the pandemic ended, the pair are now able to enjoy socialising together post the show and have enjoyed spending time with each other's families too."

Alison previously spoke about the difficulties of the duo being paired during the coronavirus pandemic, and how it affected their relationship.

"Because of COVID, there were no screen tests. No lunch. Nothing," she explained.

"We literally did a Zoom and we couldn't even get that right. I was waiting for half an hour and he wasn't there and he was waiting on a different Zoom! Then we spoke on the phone briefly and it was just, 'OK, I'll see you on Friday then.'"

This Morning airs on weekdays from 10am on ITV.
