CHICAGO (AP) _ Morningstar Inc. (MORN) on Thursday reported fourth-quarter net income of $75.3 million.

The Chicago-based company said it had profit of $1.74 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to $1.57 per share.

The investment research firm posted revenue of $380.4 million in the period.

For the year, the company reported profit of $223.6 million, or $5.18 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.39 billion.

Morningstar shares have climbed roughly 8% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $249.21, a climb of 54% in the last 12 months.
