When will Morris Plains Kohl's reopen? Store still closed a week after car crashed into it
The Kohl's on Route 10 in Morris Plains remains closed with no timetable for reopening more than a week after a car crashed into the building.
On Wednesday, the front entrance featured several signs stating the department store "will be closed until further notice." Permits at the main doors indicated construction is ongoing to ensure the building is structurally sound.
Yellow caution tape blocked off the sidewalk area where the damage took place, about 50 yards to the left of the entrance.
Carolyn Lang, a public relations specialist for Kohl's, said there were no updates to share Wednesday. Last week, she told the Daily Record that the company is working with authorities and will reopen the store "once necessary repairs are made."
The store has been closed since last Tuesday night, when a car crashed into the building after another vehicle ran a stop sign and collided with it, Morris Plains Police said. No injuries were reported, and the driver who ran the stop sign was issued a summons.

The department store chain has 37 other locations in New Jersey, including sites in Roxbury, Newton and Wayne.
