Morrison County man killed in crash with semi in Sherburne County

Sep. 29—SHERBURNE COUNTY, Minn. — A 77-year-old Morrison County man was killed in a crash with a semi on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 28, in Sherburne County.

Daniel Dennis Riordan, of Cushing, was identified as the victim in the crash, according to a

Minnesota State Patrol report.

The crash occurred at about 2:36 p.m. Thursday on Highway 25/County Road 16 in Palmer Township.

According to the State Patrol, Riordan was driving a 2022 Volkswagen Atlas eastbound on County Road 16. Meanwhile, a 2007 Kenworth Tractor Truck, driven by Michael Peter Gallagher, 29, of Ogilvie, was southbound on Highway 25. The vehicles collided at the intersection.

Riordan was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the report. He was wearing a seat belt.

Gallagher suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Centracare-St. Cloud Hospital for treatment. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report.

The Sherburne County Sheriff's Office and Clear Lake Fire assisted.
