Morristown Food Pantry Supporting Furloughed Federal Workers

The Interfaith Food Pantry is ready to support any furloughed federal workers in need of food assistance.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — With the federal government shutdown now in its third week, and with many employees having missed their first paycheck, the Interfaith Food Pantry is ready to help.

Located in Morristown and Morris Plains, the Interfaith Food Pantry is prepared to provide food assistance to any furloughed federal employees struggling to buy food. Any Morris County resident in need of help is encouraged to call the pantry at 973-538-8049, ext. 210.

New applicants for assistance are required to call to schedule an appointment.

The Morris Plains location, located at 2 Executive Drive, offers food distribution at the following days:

  • First 4 Mondays of every month from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

  • First 4 Tuesdays of every month from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

  • First and third Tuesdays of every month from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

  • First 4 Wednesdays of every month from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

  • First 4 Wednesdays of every month from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

  • First 4 Thursdays of every month from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

  • First 4 Saturdays of every month from 10 a.m. – noon

The Morristown location, at 190 Speedwell Avenue, offers food distribution at the following days:

  • Tuesday 9:30 a.m.– 12:00 p.m.

  • Wednesday 9:30 a.m.– 12:00 p.m.

  • Thursday 9:30 a.m.– 12:00 p.m.

Anyone interested in donating to the Morris Plains location can do so Monday through Thursday, between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The most needed items can be found on their website here, and include canned fruit, spaghetti, rice, dry milk, canned meats, macaroni and cheese, and baby wipes.
