Morton Hospital introduces new medical weight loss program

TAUNTON — Dr. Deepthi de Silva has joined the Steward Center for Weight Control at Morton Hospital as the new Director of Medical Weight Loss Management.

The nationally accredited center now offers both medical and surgical weight loss options for the greater Taunton community. De Silva joins the center’s three bariatric weight loss surgeons at their office located at 91 Washington Street in Taunton. She will also see patients at the Medical Weight Loss Management of Middleboro office, located at 8 Commerce Blvd. in Middleboro.

Board certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. de Silva is a Diplomat of American Board of Obesity Medicine, a Fellow of Aesthetic Medicine - American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, a Diplomat of Aesthetic Medicine - American Academy of Procedural Medicine, and a Diplomat of Acupuncture - National Hospital, Colombo South, Sri Lanka. She attended medical school at the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka, and completed residency training at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in Worcester.

Dr. de Silva speaks English and Sinhalese and has a special interest in weight management, diabetic management, and aesthetic medicine and body contouring.
