Mosley three-star tight end Randy Pittman celebrates 18th birthday with UCF commitment

UCF completed its long-anticipated commitment flip of Mosley tight end/H-back Randy Pittman.

The 6-foot-2, 230-pound senior chose the Knights on Saturday, his 18th birthday, more than three full months since he backed off a prior pledge to Florida State.

Pittman traveled down from the Panhandle to UCF on multiple occasions, including the program's spring game back in April and for an official visit the weekend of June 17. He's long been viewed as the Knights' top target at the position; UCF recruited him in addition to Kernersville (N.C.) East Forsyth tight end Jayvontay Conner, who eventually flipped to Ole Miss.

Pittman, the No. 28 tight end recruit in the country per 247Sports' composite rankings, leads Mosley this fall with 22 receptions for 373 yards and four touchdowns. He's also a goal-line rushing threat for the Dolphins, adding five scores on just 21 carries.

UCF began the weekend with the No. 61 recruiting class in the country, per 247. Their last high school commitment came on Aug. 20, courtesy of Cartersville (Ga.) three-star offensive lineman Johnathan Cline.

The Knights are actively attempting to flip several other athletes, particularly at wide receiver and defensive back.

At wideout, Seminole's Goldie Lawrence, one of several notable visitors for the Knights' win over SMU on Wednesday night, and Eustis' Tyree Patterson are long-term targets. Lawrence and Patterson are committed to Florida State and Florida, respectively.

Patterson is the nephew of former UCF cornerback Joe Burnett, who was recently inducted into the school's Athletics Hall of Fame.

Cayden Lee, an uncommitted receiving standout from Kennesaw Mountain (Ga.), officially visited UCF for the Louisville game on Sept. 9.

As for the secondary, Estero's Jason Duclona (Rutgers) and Pebblebrook (Ga.)'s Tyler Scott (Arkansas State) recently reopened their respective recruitments. The Knights are also highly interested in JC Hart, an Auburn commit who plays for nearby Loachapoka (Ala.).
